Welcome to Apimio PIM's guide on templates! This comprehensive guide is designed to help you simplify your product information management processes.

You’ll learn how to effectively use templates for supplier data onboarding, as well as how to update the import and export templates with ease.

Section 1: Supplier Data Onboarding with the Help of Templates

Onboarding supplier data efficiently is important for keeping your product information accurate and up-to-date. Templates make this process easier and quicker. Here's how you can use templates to onboard supplier data:

Step 1:

Start by clicking on the Import CSV button from the sidebar. Here, you'll create your template. During this step, map the supplier data to the corresponding fields in your template. You can save this mapping as a template for future use or directly import the product data.

Step 2:

For future imports, the process is simple. You only have to select the saved template and proceed with importing new product data. This eliminates the need to repeat the mapping process, saving time and reducing errors.

Section 2: How to update import and export templates?

Keeping your templates updated is essential for maintaining accurate and efficient workflows. Here’s how you can update both import and export templates:

Update Import Templates

Step 1:

Start by going to the import option from the sidebar. Select the template you need to update.

Step 2:

Make the necessary changes to the template. Update fields, categories, or any other relevant information and select the next option.

Step 3:

If you want to import a CSV and save the template, click on "Apply" and then "Save Template" in the dialog box that opens.

If you only want to save the template, use the "Save Template" button in the upper left corner.

Update Export Templates

Step 1:

Select the export option from the sidebar. Here, you’ll find pre-made templates for platforms like Shopify and Magento.

Step 2:

If you need a new template, click on "create a new template" and begin mapping your data. After mapping, click on the next option.

Step 3:

A pop-up will appear with two options: save template or start exporting. Choose the one that suits your needs.

Step 4:

If you select start exporting, go to the notifications section from the sidebar. You’ll find a URL there; click on it to download your file.

Step 5:

Alternatively, you can receive an email with the same URL, which you can use to download the file.
